Found this last night and can't find anything on it. I sure it's a toy barrel but sure would like to know the time frame and may be a picture
there is no markings on it, it's heavy, and the bore goes through.
The front sight and band on the end looks like it's from a Luger, but the western style engraving rules that out.
Also, most cap guns had a rounded or slanted front sight, where this one is squared off. Went through a lot of
photos, but I drew a blank.
O.k. here is what I would do- that looks a little too ornate for a toy but I could be wrong. I would give it a spritz of WD-40 inside and jam a piece of modeling clay into it the suspected chamber. If it narrows down like it might have held a cartridge , that's a good sign it was a firearm. Then jam that clay into the other end and slowly twist it back out to look for rifling. Rifling would be a sure sign it was a firearm, but not all firearms were/are rifled.
