Placer Gold in Appomattox county

Going to be returning to Appomattox county soon and looking for a house/proeperty to buy. I've got in-laws there and have done a lot of MD, mostly old houses and farms.

I've been wondering if anyone has found gold(panning or sluice etc) in the county, Buckingham county is immediately north by North east and there are lots of active gold mines still where folks still find gold, I was wondering if small pockets of gold might be found in the streams etc in Appomattox county...anybody?

Personally I have never had the opportunity to pan there, however I have in different parts of the country. There is always gold left in Tailings and streams. Give it a shot!
