Plantation finds... Jug fragment farm pieces

I got to sweep the outskirts of an old rice plantation field and came up with old nails, what looks like the end to some chain. (It's super heavy) and what looks like the top of a jug to me. It has a small loop handle. It's ferrous. The plantation was active from the early 1700's to the 1850's.
They are no gems! Hopefully I can get them cleaned up some.
