Plate with Key-Hole

I found this about 2 months ago and I still dont know what it is or where it goes...Its 6" long and 3.75" and 3.5" wide..Has a brass keyhole in it that is a 1.5" x .25"....

Could be it just seems like an awful big lock for door I mean it would take a huge key....But then again I dont really know....
