I haven’t been able to get out much. Too many family obligations. I did get time last Wednesday to do a little water detecting. Nothing great or special, but some interesting finds. A couple of earrings, 2 coins, a split shot sinker and a leather bracelet with a magnetic clasp inscribed with the Lord’s Prayer.
After the water I went back to the club for a few hours. I managed 42 coins with a face value of $2.93, a 2006 Chuckie Cheese token and a junky earring. I got lucky and found another .58 cal minie ball drop. It’s a little beat up from the ground being moved around to make the picnic area, but civil war lead is always nice.
Monday I got back into the water and found a few coins, fishing sinkers and some junk jewelry. There was one small piece of silver, an earring back. Not much, but silver is silver.
Then back to the club for some more clean up swingin. I found 31 coins with a face value of $2.06 a flattened penny (a railroad track is near by) and a nice little sterling ring. It looks nice, but it is cracked. It was in a swampy spot and from the looks of it the crack is from freezing ground expanding inside the ring. That seems to happen a lot around here. I think my wife may want the ring and I have a jeweler friend who can fix just about anything. He’s reasonable too.
Well that’s all for now. Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
