🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Please help in identifying this object

[JEB the Pirate]

This object was dug out of a South Louisiana Field by my son yesterday.

It measures approximately 3.75 Inches tall and 1.25 Inches wide.

All holes are threaded. The three small holes around the body as well as the one on top appear to be for set screws.

Not sure what metal it is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was thinking the same thing. Would explain the hole in the bottom where the retaining pin/rivet would hold it inside the brass.

I guess it certainly could be part of a brass bed but the one thing that makes me think that it is something else is that the large holes are threaded as well.

I believe its what's call pneumatic banjo fitting. Used on a air tool such as a jackhammer and it allows the air hose to swing and not get all twisted up. They are also used in some fluid applications.

I'm not a 100% on it because I'm trying to wrap my head around why it has those two tiny holes in it.

Lot of farmers carry air compressors on their service trucks now a days.They can fix flats in the field and use impact wrenches.

Thanks very much for your insight on this possibly being a Banjo Fitting. I had never heard of that so you got me to researching that.

I agree with your comment regarding the holes; however, I certainly believe you are on to something here. Greatly appreciate it.
