Hi All,

Today I found a large 1937 one penny coin in my box of halves. After a quick Google search it appears to be from the UK. Can anyone tell me if this is a good find? I search primarily for the silver, but can this be sold for profit? Thanks in advance for the help.

As an update, I found 2 40% coins, a 2005D, a 2005P and a 1980S with a mirror-like surface. These are in addition to the old large penny coin. I know the melt value of the two 1968 40% coins, but if anyone could give me an idea of the values of the other coins that would be great!

Not a market for the penny, but it is a cool find. (And it cost you $0.50 to find it, since they didn't put a half in that slot)

The 2 NIFC (not intended for circulation) halves aren't worht anything but $.50. Some people save them hoping they will gain a little value in years to come but it won't be much. Most say turn them loose and look for silver. Same with the 1980S. They are pretty and all but, once they have been put into circulation, they lose any collector value they might have had. You might find someone once in a while that collects them on a whim but not too likely.
