NEED HELP IDENTIFYING, THANKS

Finally got to test my new Garret Ace 350 I recieved as a gift during the winter. (Was doing my backyard.I'm fairly a newbie to detecting). I found a 'lil 50's Midget Toy Company Fire Truck,a 1947 D wheat penny, 1940 Candaian penny, Turn Signal Flasher for 1964-1965 Corvette, along w/ pull tabs, rusty nails etc. :tongue3:

Anyway I need help/ideas on what this clip looking thing could be. It's non-magnetic, liteweight and appears to have black tarnish. Was thinking hair clip???? Could be nothing, but I thought maybe someone knows.Thanx! possible clip.webp

I thought so too. But I have my detector set for just silver and its pinging right on the mark. I dunno.

Big aluminum may ping and display just like silver coins. The only aluminum that won't ping in the coin only mode is coin sized aluminum. With my Garretts, aluminum soda cans hit as perfect Silver Dollars...In 30 years I have dug a mountain of aluminum cans, (and one Silver Dollar that was a long time comin').

I found one something like that, not exact, but aluminum, and it was a tag used in a sheep's ear. ???

Aluminum is older than you think.Aluminum use to be worth more than gold because of its light weight.

Cool finds.
Does the metal bend easily or does it have a spring to it?
Cheers, Mike
