please ID and date this Kansas University piece.....

Looking for any info about this neat little Kansas University "Engineering Council" pendant (?). Its length is approx. 1 1/8" and is heavy for it's size...hopefully it's gold, but there are no markings to indicate.
Any help is appreciated!!!!
