Found this today and don't know what it is. I think it is American. It is a little larger than a quarter.

Where should the date be and what years were these made.

Very cool large cent, from the picture, it looks like the date is 1832!

Please tell me how you see 1832, Im not being sarcastic I would just like to know.

I saw a "2" as the last digit and it looks like a "3" is the third digit but I'm probably wrong

It looks like a matron head large cent. cool find!!!

The man has some good eye's, All I can tell is that it's a large "Matron head" cent......Cool find!!

P.S.
What did you clean it with?

Birch wood Casey's gun blue and rust remover.

Thanks guys. I am very pleased with it. It's my first large cent.

I agree with wheatfinder 13 I think I see a 32 in there also great job..

lol tried helping you with my eagle eyes but I dont even see where the date is supposed to be on that coin. Not even talking about reading it. Eagle Eye Fail.

Yeah the impression is there, does seem to be 1832.
Its your find, but please don't use 'Birch wood Casey's gun blue and rust remover'. There are much better ways to do it without harming the patina (see the cleaning section, hot peroxide is better)& if you don't know what it is, it may have been a $1000 coin until you.....(not being horrible, just trying to save you future heart acre)

To me, it looks like the last design of the matron head LC - the ones minted from 1835 - 1839. Anyone else see it?

I have no experience in these, but I thought the last number was a '7' until the 2 was floated.

Thanks guys. I love this hobby!!!!!!!!

nice find congrats HH
