SOLVED! PLEASE TELL ME IT IS A....REVOLUTIONARY WAR RAMROD TIP!
Today I went to my Revolutionary War battlefield site. There has not been any hard evidence that the battle took place at this location other than a few flat buttons and a pewter button.....before today that is! It is very quiet in this field. I only got 5 signals in an hour and a half of hard detecting. I scored a very old piece of brass, looks like a clock part. I also dug another pewter flat button but it is so corroded on the edges I can't make out the front. My find of the day was what I believe to be a ramrod tip....from the battle in 1781! Do you guys agree? The thing is solid brass, and the top is concave. The bottom is snapped. There is a hole through the center for a patch. I realy hope we can positively ID this ramrod tip! Knowing I am on the right site would be very rewarding! It would also make this relic a very important piece of my local history!
