Hi all, I found this point in a park, while metal detecting. I decided to walk up a washout in hopes of finding one, as we have had 7 inches of rain in the last 10 days. Didn't take long, I found it in the first 5 minutes I was there. It was found in Northeastern Illinois ( Will County ). I sure would appreciate your opinions on what type it is, and how old it is. I do love to find them, but I am by no means an authority on types and ages. Thanks in advance, Ron

That's a tough one. The point has seen some serious wear. Good find!

Nice find , I’m not from your area so just a guess in the type but maybe a big sandy ? Whatever the type looks like it was reworked many times and used often

That's a woodland point. Likely middle woodland, Hopewell. Gary
