Point ID help

This point was found in the Adirondack mountains of New York. Any help with type and age is truly appreciated. Thank you!

I think a true arrowhead (insert local name here for triangle arrowpoints) made in the woodland period. "Meadowood Blade" Early Woodland..

I agree with Tom that it looks like a Meadowood blade. Often made of Onondaga chert, which appears to be the case. Often found as cache blades. They were the preforms for Meadowood points, so they were often cached and retrieved when needed, and then fashioned into points. Here is the point type that would be fashioned from such a blade:

Very nice point. It looks very thin, but I can’t really tell without a side view. Any chance that you can post a picture the other side?
 

MAMucker: Yes it is very thin. 6 or 7 millimeters at thickest section perhaps.

Very nice point. I have a similar point with side notches that I’ve not been uncomfortable putting an ID on. I will post it separately with reference to this post.
