Don't have the money to buy a good water scoop right now so I thought that I would make a temporary one. Got a galvanized animal food scoop. $8.00 from True Value, drilled some 1/2" holes, a handle from an old broken snow shovel and some hardware. I can't believe how strong it is. The bracket is made of hardened steel. You can put all your weight on it and push it into the sand with your foot and it wont even bend. I might add a foot pad and angle bracket.

Real nice work! Definitely better than no scoop at all.

That sure is a cool scoop. It just shows you, you don;t have to spent a lot of money on this stuff. Just use your head and make it.

lol thats the same exact scoop that I bought at Southern States 2 weeks ago. I was in a hurry and didn't take the time to make my holes as uniform as you did, but it works, and is very sturdy even with all the holes.

Nice.... what's that hardened steel bracket from?? Thanks

i posted a message before but changed my mind,i will give you the benefit of the doubt, like to see if it holds up

the handle and bracket are from and old snow shovel. The part with the holes was curved, took a lot of hammering to get it flat...Rich.
