Okay, I've attached some pics, what do you guys think? How I should I go about getting it authenticated? Possible 1877, can't totally make out the last digit but top of it looks like the 7 just before it. Sorry about the poor pics guys, just got a new camera and haven't quite figured it out yet...

Try a shot with the light shining across the coin. Try to focus the light on the date from the side.

Mk, tried to get a zoom in on the date...don't know if I'll be able to do much better but thanks for the hints.

Do you have a monocular to look through? That would help. I can't really tell. I hope it is the real deal though!!

It just may be my eyes but I think it's a 4. Where's that coin microscope when you need it!
