✅ SOLVED Possible age on an old padlock.

I found this really deep in an old, old area. It's pretty much falling apart. The face plates appear to be brass though.
It's only an inch and 3/4 at it's widest, an inch 1/2 tall. The only marks I've found are the words "PATENT", (circled on one pic).

Anyone recognize the shape? Possible age?

With thanks to ekeisler, I'm thinking the padlock has been identified.
