Possible Civil War Campsite?

Wanted to get your opinion on these finds. They were both found in the same general area (within 200 feet) where civil war artifacts have been found....but there have also been finds that are not civil war related as well.

The first is a mallet head and the second is what I think might be part of a tent? What do you guys think?

It's a canvas material (dirty), and it kind of came apart when I pulled it out of the ground, but not sure if the grommet or mallet is period correct.
