Found this not too long ago can't really find too much about it on Google due to the really worn in print on the inside of it. Seems to say "Alpaca Mexico Taxco" but it's hard to tell cause it's worn. All I can really tell you for sure is that the entire thing is pure silver besides the center piece.....what do you guys and gals think about it? 20180904_093945.webp

Taxco is the jewelry center of Mexico. The "Alpaca" part indicates that it is not silver but an alloy of zinc, copper and nickel.

There is no silver in pieces marked Alpaca. If there were silver it would be marked "silver" by law with a designation of the silver percentage like .500 for coin silver or .925 for sterling silver.

The center piece is abalone and dyed onyx.

I think these do really have a great look, despite the fact that they're not silver. I usually pick them up when I see them at rummage sales for $2 or so.

The earlier Alpaca pieces like this one do have some collectable value. The one you have is appealing and in good condition. It is a nice find.
