Possible Old ship nail? not sure. HELP!

First four pictures from last summer found on Jersey shore, the last pictures with purple background are from now june 2016. My boyfriend and I found it on the shore at night and kept it as a memory. Now we would like to get opinions on what it might be from. I know jersey had bad Hurricane that tore boardwalk down. It would be cool if maybe from something else like old ship?

Any large nail doesn't mean it's a ship's nail, but yours has a lot going for it. It's brass, fits the old style of hand wrought ships spikes, and most importantly is lodged in teak. Teak was a very important type of wood on ships - it resisted rot and maintained reasonably easy. I would say you have yourself a winner!

I have a friend that hunts Nj beaches where there were wrecks and yours matches some of the spikes he has found
its an awesome find and even better that you found in the wood - usually the best time to hit those spots is in the winter months
Spanish silver and gold has been found at some of those spots along with many other relics from the late 1700s to the mid 1800s
