Hey guys,

Looking for help on a button I dug today at a rev war camp- 1 piece construction, copper with silver wash. Front has at least 2 concentric circles around the border and something on the inside :dontknow: Any ideas?

I see the rings and if I use my imagination I see the trunk of a tree with crossing lines. Could it be a one piece S. Carolina state seal button?

Thanks for giving it a shot, definitely can make out the border rings, iron loop shank screams British military. Perhaps a 7th

Only problem with that theory is the pewter British buttons had a glob of the pewter where the shank meets the button. I can't make out whats on it either.

Spot on smokey but this one is not a pewter, it's copper with a braised iron loop shank. Was able to confirm that it's British enlisted, now trying to match the regiment.
