Found some pottery shards in the Shenandoah River. Number 1 is salt glazed stoneware about 6"by 5". However it has a top lid but another grooved lid underneath it. Included exterior and interior photos of it. Does anyone know what it might have been used for. Number two is plate shard about 2". It has a spindle type pattern and a wheat pattern along the top edge although it is hard to see. Anyone know what date it might be.
