pottery piece

I live just north of Savannah Ga. found this piece sitting on top of the ground after a farmer disc the field, their is pieces of brick and glass scattered through parts of the field, there used to be a turpentine mill in that field? It does have some designs on it and I think its a top or piece of lid it's fairly heavy! I doubt anybody could truly I.D this thing, but I'll give it a shot!

Welcome to THet. It does seem to have a feather edge design. I'm thinking butter pat piece, without having any idea of the measurements involved here. The foot seems very close to the rim, if I'm seeing it correctly.

Were I you, I'd repost it in a more frequented area, such as What Is It? Just a few floors north of here.
