practice round or piece of tool?

Hello:

Found in Beaumont, Texas.
Late 1800's to 1950's
1. Heavy iron. Would like to think a shell but where it was found leads me to believe part of a bit?

2. The other is hitch for wagon or plow? (found at same site)

Hopefully, my resized images are good. I am learning to crop!!!

Strange shape makes me think it is an ore crusher, but the hollowed out spot with what appears to be an iron spot in the center makes me think it is a gate weight or a tether weight.
