Well the parks in my town haven't given up much lately, street tearout r paved , vacant lots have scarce , so took Loco advise and hitting private properties doing door knocking. Well I started in the oldest part of town homes were built in 1900 to 1950s. I was able to get permission for 6 homes and my grand total was 23 wheaty s and two Rosies. My last 3 homes found nada!!!! . I thought tons of silver finds but just two. Dang

Congrats on your six permissions and your silver Rosies & wheaties finds, I to find it very difficult to knock on people's doors and ask if I can metal detect their yards - anyway thanks for sharing your post with all of us & I wish you many more great finds while out dirt fishin.

WTG Jim, :occasion14: now that wasn't to hard. The homes that really produce are the ones where they had soldiers serve in WWII. They came back with some cash and liked to party when they arrived. Lot's of silvers in those yards. Keep at it, your yearly silvers totals will grow with permission hunting.

Those experiences you got getting those permissions will keep on helping you out!

I got a permission last week close to my work. It's my 8th permission. I'm getting better at asking. It's an 1830's home site.

I got a 1943 walking half (my first), 1899 barber quarter (my first), 1902 barber dime, 1864 IHP, 1876 IHP, 1882 IHP, toasted buffalo nickel, and what I think is a 1778 half reale!

If that had been the first time I had ever asked permission, I may not have gotten it. When I ask now, I'm much more comfortable and confident and it seems like that helps.

Keep asking and looking for old sites!

You did great, good luck on the other homes!
