Got a question for everyone. Are the new golden presidential coins coated in 24 k gold? I know you can get them from the franklin mint in 24k gold. My uncle tried to tell me that you can get them in your change and they are indeed 24k gold. I doubt this though since they are only worth 1 dollar. If this is true why would the govt produce them? They would be loosing money. Thanks to everyones reponse.

Nope, no gold in the presidential dollars as they come from the mint.

From Coinflation.com:

Composition of Presidential Dollars:
88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese, 2% nickel

P.S. Don't waste your money on the coins from the Franklin Mint, you won't be able to resell for anywhere near what you paid.

That goes for vertually anything Franklin Mint markets...or any similar mints
