🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Primitive Grater?

Hey y’all. Picked up this interesting piece at my local antique shop today. It appears to be very old and I’m guessing that it is a grater of some sort? Any ideas on age and origin?

It's a home made grater. The holes were punched with a modern nail. I would say early 1900.
