Prizm IV needs service/repair?

My Prizm IV is acting strange. The buttons won't work to activate/deactivate the Tone-ID, on/off, disc +/-, sensitivity. It will not turn off, so I need to remove the batteries. I still get icons on the LCD, I get tones when I pop the batteries in. Sometimes it will go into all metal mode all by itself.

I changed out the batteries and have left them out overnight to try to reset.

I called White's for help. Their first suggestion was to try new batteries. Still no luck.
Any thoughts?

Call White's service center and send it in. I have had good luck with them.
