Problem with Garrett Pointer

I got the new Garrett pointer the Orange one. It will only detect about a inch away. I put in a new battery and it dose the same thing. Do I have a defect one or what.

They have three ranges. Also sound and vibrate. Check youtube; a very good visual tutorial.

Gave mine a work out today, maybe i should read the instructions..... it was hitting on my digging tool at about 4"s.. when i set it to close. Must be set right!!

Make sure when you turn it on that it isn't near anything metal too.

I have the coward and the black when I've had to send them back twice and I'm sorry I'm not a Garrett pin pointer believer. I want to pin pointer that will detect a target in my plug without me having to shred the plug into 1 million pieces. My black one's not working again I give up
