I found a nice '56 Franklin on Thursday as part of a 29 silver box. As I was logging it into the 'ole spreadsheet I notice that I hadn't found a single silver dime yet this year (only hunted $1,020 but still...). This discouraged me a bit so Friday afternoon I left work a fe minutes early so I could stop by a bank with a coin counter that will sell me unlimited bags. I grabbed a bag of dimes and a bag of nickels (trying to find the elusive '43-D). A quick check through he plastic bag in the parking lot revealed nothing, as it normally does.
I started on the dimes at home. Second handful I found a proof 1963 Rosie! Awesome, broke the skunk and found only my 3rd proof silver dime (1962, 1990-something). To make a long story short I ended finding a 1961, 3x1963 & 1964 proof silver dimes. All of them were fresh out of the government packaging with no wear marks at all. Also found a 1998-S clad proof. In addition to the proof I found 8 other silver Rosie's including a 1951-D and 1953-S that filled holes in the CRH found dime book.
NIFC silvers are by far my favorite coins to find. Stoked to pull 5 from the same bag. Also pulled a '69-S proof and 1934 & 1937 Buffalo nickels from the nickel bag. Went bag yesterday and grabbed the quarter and penny bags and didn't find anything noteworthy (11 wheats, no quarters). The half bag is half full. I'm going to try to fill it and snag it next week. Hopefully it's got a bunch of proof Franklins in it. Pics below including the '56 Franklin from Thursday.
Thanks.
