Here is day 3 of my recent gold prospecting trip to Wanlockhead, Scotland Day 1 & 2 were uploaded in a previous video showing myself gold prospecting on a different stream to day 3 and 4, days 1 & 2 were not so good on the gold front but after moving locations to prospect a different stream I had worked before, I started to recover some nicer bits of gold. I decided to run my DIY gold sluice which I made myself using vortex gold matting, Hi-Low gold matting and 2 different types of Gold Hog matting. There is a video on my channel showing how I made this sluice and it worked very well in the stream I was working. I made the sluice for more narrow streams but having only used it once so far, I wanted to see what gold it would recover and it turned out to perform really well. I even ran my usual sluice behind it to ensure I wasn`t loosing any gold and none was found which is a good sign. I work the hole for only 3-4 hours in this video as I wasn`t feeling well in the morning and the days are darker earlier this time of the year and show the results of most of my panning after sluicing a bucket of material, every pan had shows of gold which is always nice to see. Not a record breaking amount of gold recovered but it was a lot more than I found in the first 2 days gold prospecting a different stream so deciding to move ground was a very good idea.
