At first I thought this was a rock as it was solid black. Only have exhausting attempts at looking for other pieces of metal did it occur to me that this thing in my scoop was metal. Not it tested positive for silver. It clearly has a cross inscribed it in. I've boiled it in Baking soda and I am going to soak it in vinegar over night. Anybody with any ideas? The outline of the cross is in the first picture. I know it is hard to see in the pic, but it is there.

Crispin,

Good score on the big hunk of silver.....not up on the Spanish silver....but if no one can narrow it down...

Maybe a pm to Gary Drayton who's got a fair amount of experience on the Spanish stuff.

Regards + HH
