This was my first token, and it came at a perfect time when I was trying to show off my detecting skills at my friends house. He lives in a 1756 built farmhouse - the oldest house on my street. So I went down to show off the new AT Pro. This took 15 minutes: I dug up a flat nail, then another really big flat nail, then an old mangled coffee pot. The last signal sounded like a coin, and from 4 inches deep in the flowerbed near an apple tree, this coin comes out. It looked like a large cent, so I suggested we stop the op and get inside to clean it up. Minutes later... its a 1852 Quebec bank token, half cent. Never heard of or seen one before. It cleaned up good!

Man, I need to find some new soil. The acidic soil around here makes 1980s pennies look worse than that! Good job!

NICE!

Sure hope your Friend lets you come back!:laughing7:

God Bless

From now on I'm looking in flower beds near apple trees , wow, no corrosion at all!

My two best condition coins of their age both came out of a grove of maple and apple trees, I think they balance out the PH and keep the ground quite dry and there's none of that fertiliser!

Now that I think of it, I hunted a park once, same thing, maples and few other trees including apple etc, of course flower beds... and the condition of the coins was great, might be something to that

Awesome token

Congrats! Now that's the way to impress some one when MD'ing!
