I live in Northcentral PA but am planning a 3 day trip to Atlantic City to do a little gambling. I thought it might be a nice break from the action if I could take my detector and look around a bit. I have never done any beach hunting and was wondering if anyone has hunted the Atlantic City area and could suggest any tips for a bountiful hunt. I use a White's 6000. Any and all tips for a first time beach hunter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your help.

I do all the time... but mostly south of AC around the Ocean City area. I believe that they just put some new sand down in AC also. Let me know when you are going to be there. I might be able to come down and show you around!

Chiz,

Thanks for the reply. I am going to be in AC on March 7th, 8th and 9th which is a Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I won't get there on the 7th until about 3 P.M., but will be there full days on Monday and Tuesday. Should I just walk the beach and try to find a cut or something where the water has taken out some sand? Is there a chance to find some old coins in the area? I'm strictly a land hunter and this will be new to me, but I am excited about giving it a shot. I hope the weather is warm enough then to even bother. Thanks,

Walleye22

Hey, I was there last week gambling and noticed they are doing the beach replemashment project there. If you bring a huge sifting screen there you might be able to get something. Maybe next time

LOL I was there last month. I walked for miles without even digging a pull tab! I thought my detector was broke till I figured out what that huge pipe running down the beach was for.
