Question about Michigan

I've heard a lot about finding Meteorites in the southwest because of better weather conditions and my question would be...Just because I live in a place that is wet and snowy would that preclude my finding such a thing? thanks

Nope! You can find them if you look.Many meteorites have been found in Wisconsin and Michigan,infact all over the world.Meteorite man "Robert Haag" Say's there should be some where between three meteorites in a one-three mile square,but with as many years as we have been around and meteorites falling all the time ...We should be able to find one.It is not impossible.Do a INTERNET search on meteorites found in Michigan P.S.S. "I will look for you"and you will find people have found them there too!And don't let the regular rock guys say you can't.

check with the farmers in your area in the spring after they plow but before they plant wide, open areas with easy digging. also check their rock piles on the edges of the fields.

wow, i found this topic... (no, i don't read everything) no, i don't think i found a metiorite, but i did find a wierd iron rock once (probably ore)
