Question about the Gold Bug 2

A detecting buddy has a Gold Bug 2 that he gold hunts with out west. He is making a trip to Buchanan, Virginia and was wondering if he should take it along or borrow one that hunts in a lower frequency. He is hoping to do some relic hunting while he is there.

He will do just fine with the GB II in Virginia. Lower freqs may not be as good in that hot soil.
