Question on the mint mark of 1964 and earlier washington quarters

I was just wondering where the mint mark of 1964 and earlier washington quarters was located, because i have a 1964 quarter with a D on the back part of it under the branch of leaves, is that where its suppose to be. If someone can show me a picture, that would be cool.

Yes that is the Correct spot.

It was only moved to the front on the Clad coins.
