Since I've been using my Ryedale to sort pennies I've accumulated lots of wheats...I have a stack of 1949-S. I can send you one if you like...I set up two test tube holders with a plastic coin tube in each hole for the years 1909-1958. (too lazy to sort by mint) When I get a couple of rolls of wheats I sort them into the the tubes...When I hear a coin hit the bottom of an empty tube I know I've found one for a hole in one of my folders. The rest I save as whole rolls of one year....

You see, that's one of the things I loved about this forum in its heyday. People were not only generous with their advice and encouragement, but on occasion they'd even offer other members the very coins they collect. That kind of good will really gets lost in all this "don't post your finds" nonsense.

Thanks so much for the offer KW, but I love finding my wheaties "in the wild." Filling that last hole will be extra sweet when it's from a Vegas slot. You're a class act, killer!

Immy...I figured that the "finding" of the coin was more important to you than "filling" a hole in your book...always is too me...your a good egg.... Still, I do get a lot of wheats and make the same offer to all here if you need a coin...I've got a roll of 1909-S VDB's that need a home...opps...sorry...only one, and it's MINE!

Trying the "quote" thing for the first time....Forgot to add in my reply to you that although I have been very busy lately, I do try to read all the posts here...Remember when there was no coin roll hunting forum on T-Net?...and they kicked us off "Today's Finds" and created this group for us? We kick #$#@'s on finds... My detector finds are small...but fun in a completely different way...

Heck yeah, I remember those days. There were only about ten boards back then IIRC. I still kept posting on Today's Finds till I scrolled down and found our very own board. Most of the original posters aren't around anymore either: bscofield, Snee and TimmyNY who coined the word "skunk" (a little trivia for the newbies).

I still see Snee around on some of the other boards...Think I saw him last on the Nugget Hunting board...Seems like bscofield gets busy detecting as the weather warms up...
