I came back from my vacation to a pretty hectic day of work and needed to get out for an hour or so. On my way to the wooded area I was heading to, the sky looked a bit ominous, but fortunately for me, it stayed bone dry the entire hunt (though as I left, a block away, the ground was soaked, as if it had rained there but not over me!)
Well, no luck in the woods. This area is near the camp but not the actual camp. The woods were pretty soggy, and I was picking up all kinds of iron, and it got annoying! I found a few lead bullets, pull tabs, and one of those ID braclets, much like the one Kermit found, except mine is aluminum, and not personalized (how boring.)
I was on my way to the car and decided to hit the grassy picnic grove between the woods and lot (Kermit, we hit this field once before). TONS of trash, but I did get a 1907 V nickel at 7 inches and a 1917-D wheat at 5 inches. I had to basically dig any deep signal that wasn't iron. Soon I was in the company of five tame deer, but no more oldies were to be found (did find a few early memorials.)
It was good to get out, maybe next time I can get a silver Roosevelt. Eh, who am I kidding? lol...take care all.
