Working the surf last and got a nice round faint signal. So I dug. After about 9 inches or so the sand turned to quick sand. The signal was still there and still faint. So I dug more. The damm thing just kept sinking. I walked away to other targets after 20 minutes. Aside from digging a huge wide hole and jumping in does anybody have a clever technique for this sort of thing (I was using a caged sand scooper)?
