r.r button

any rail road buffs out there? i found this on a shore last summer it says new york and new england. what i found was that it was a conducters button from that r.r. and that railroad was bought out by another in like 1891 by i think the new haven line wich turned into the old colony. so it would have to date befor 1891. there is a backmark but its playing games with my eyes i know theres scovil on there and its two piece but just the name pretty much dates it. anymore info would be appriciated. thanx willy.
