I read some obscure text on hobos once....

it seems besides rock art to communicate, hobos wold stash things under bridges...up near the top of the support pillars...

let me know how it works out...big interest, since santé fe opened the west through this area.

Hey partner.... Your NOT the only one who finds these "things". Their shotgun head stamps. Their the only part that remains from old shotgun shells when fired and thrown on ground. The paper goes "away". I've and many have dug these up. Some of the ones I've found have been from the late 1800's to 1930's... Brad

bountyhuntergirl86,

Did any Steam Locomotives ever run on the tracks? If so, it might just be a by-product of coal being burned in the firebox below the boiler. However, they could be some type of raw ore brought in with the other Railroad gravels! See if you can clean some of them up with fine steel wool and soapy water, dry then post a few more pics on here. Maybe then, we can Determine what they area!

BHG are you sure the shrapnel is brass? Could it be lead sabot? Anyone? Bueller?
