Howdy Folks. Went out night hunting in the rain last night. I am certifiably nutz.:tongue3: I managed to find an old leather shoe advertising tag for "Bernard & Friedman" Titan Calf. Also got part of an old Keen Kutter Junior razor. One little odd item with an "R" on the back of it? Also found the cool little brass Terrier doggie. I had so much fun getting wet I went back today and got wet again. Found various brass shrapnel and another hefty load of iron and can slaw. One brass thing says "Brary's Improved Balance No. 2. No idea what that is? Another chunk of pot metal or pewter that says "Lancaster, PA Made in USA Pat. Pend 250? So I must have found ALL the coins in this field.:icon_thumright: Had fun even with forty mile an hour winds and drizzle. If anyone spots something and actually knows what it is please chime in. Thanks for stopping by. Kurios1

Way to go Kurious!
IM SO HAPPY IT FINALLY RAINED!
We needed it for sure!
My mom has a door stopper that looks just like the terrier!

Still pulling some cool relics even in the rain and wind.
You are hard core for sure...Congrats!!

looks like your bucket runneth over too! glad you got some rain, sure feels good too. I had to get another bucket, my old one bit the dust, got too brittle. still finding the cool stuff, surely there is a coin or two still hiding. our rain didn't last very long, already got dust forming again on the roads.

Good mix of finds you got from your night hunt. Good luck on your return! Glad you got rain!

Nice finds Kurios1 - FWIW - my favorite is the "old leather shoe."

Cool assortment of relics, sometimes neater than a coinage find. Liking the tag (fob) with the horse shoe good luck symbol. The little broken end might be off a key winder-just a thought as the shape reminds me of one.
Must admit that's one well hung Scottie. :)
Digging shoe tap/harmonica reeds is a good indication there's older lurking under the soils.

Man your on it with the relic's! Sorry, can't ID anything except the 3rd pic, second row. I believe that is Command Central:laughing7:. Nice hunt again, and happy dance we finally got some gully washers!!

Congrats on those therapeutic digs, I'm liking that old leather shoe advertising tag, it will look nice in any display.

The broken thingy with the "R" looks really "old" judging by the build up of patina on it. I thought the Scottie was just another piece of brass shrapnel when I dug it. Nice surprise after I bent it back into shape to see a doggie. Yeah, old stuff popping out of the dirt everywhere but, still no old silver coin? Dirt poor farmers? I might give this spot, and myself, a rest and go visit the old farmer today. A nice soybean field with an old homestead would be easier on my tired old body.:laughing7: BTW, I think the chicks will dig Old "Scottie". Thanks for chiming in mate.:icon_salut:

The Command Vehicle needs a serious clean out! Not to mention I might rediscover some lost coins and relics inside of her. The rain we got here only dampened a few inches of dirt. We could really use a real lengthy down poor. Thanks for chiming in and Happy Hunting to you mate.:icon_thumright:

Not sure if hauling all this iron is "therapeutic" on my tired old body.:laughing7: I did enjoy my "highlight" of the weekend so far with the leather shoe tag. It's old and cool. I was kinda' using your "willing" myself a silver coin method but, to no avail. Perhaps another patch of dirt will provide some new goodies?:icon_thumright:

My Command Vehicle needs a serious clean out. Field Hunting means lots of dirty iron is coming home with me. A nice large tub is needed. I'll be scanning the curbs for one!:laughing1: The rain we got only dampened a few inches of topsoil. We really need a long soaking down poor. Thanks for chiming in my friend.:icon_thumright:

Wait until the fall and swing your coil in the areas that were not easily accessible during earlier hunts. I hunt until the ground freezes, so here in Ohio so I get about 10 months in a season. Humping that iron is great exercise. As you can tell I try to look at the bright side of things.

As for the secret you just have to know it's going to happen. Heck it doesn't happen on every hunt, wish it did, I'd be posting more. What is a reasonable item on on your wish list? I mean it's got to be something that was prevalent in the area you are hunting.

Your gonna have to put some load handler shocks on the rear of that Corolla to haul all those relics off.:laughing7:
Nice finds....I like the little Scottie Terrier dog.

The next item on "my" agenda realistically would be the Seated Half Dime. Flying Eagle Cent or III Cent Nickel shockers also welcome as first finds. Many other older coins such as anything capped bust variety are ALL on my Bucket List. My oldest US coin is my 1826 US Half Cent. I'd love to make it into the 1700's but, realistically don't expect it this far west. My friend Joe Dirt made it though with a huge Spanish silver reale so I do NOT have any doubt those coins are here. Just knowing the odds of my coil meeting up with one is extremely unlikely. That's where my faith kicks in along with researching sights as well. Gotta' run. I increase my odds with every swing of the coil! Adios!:icon_salut:

"Scottie" appeared from the dirt as another twisted piece of brass shrapnel. Tossed him in my "good" finds pouch and continued hunting. Upon cleaning the brass and other better finds I realized what he was. Quite a nice surprise to bend him back into shape. WOOF! WOOF!:dog::hello2:

The Corolla was purchased from a first generation Mexican man who barely spoke English. Very nice fellow. He intended the car for his daughter but, she couldn't get the hang of the 5 speed and clutch. He fixed her up fairly well and the struts are pretty new and I've also sunk some $$$ money into her to keep her road worthy. Not the best vehicle for hauling hundreds of pounds of iron but, she gets it done!
