Rarest Confederate Buttons?

I have found two buttons that many Civil War collectors say are "rare". One, a manuscript R Confederate Rifleman's button, Tice states he has only seen six examples. The other was just identified as a Virginia Militia Staff Officer's button, also noted as "extremally rare". I also often talk with an old time collector who has told me there are examples that are not in any books.

But, what is rare? Can we quantify that? Any thoughts on which specific buttons and back marks are the "most rare" of the Confederate line? Can you post examples of your finds?

Tice was written a long time ago. They are hard to get and expensive, but "gettable". You have pics? There are a lot of VA buttons out there.
