I don't put my jack-o-lantern out until Halloween night, because of all the other jack-o-lanterns I see others put out early with nothing but a big hole where the face was carved before. Squirrels go to town on the pumpkins around here during the fall.

After a few good cold spells they really start melting down,I left them whole,no artistic carving.:laughing9:

We put out pumpkins and have grey and red squirrels and they've never touched them. They must have enough to eat otherwise. Gary

They have a constant food supply I put out, eventually they will gnaw into them, that is what squirrels do.:laughing7:

I once came home from work to find my big orange cat with his head inside a fresh honey dew melon just like that squirrel. Never saw another cat go for melons.

$5 worth of peanuts every few weeks = entertainment. Little buggers are hell on my mangoes!

I never had one go after a pumpkin. Lots of oak trees here. Great pic.
