One pic was taken in dimmer light. Any guesses? Found at place in river where igneous and metamorphic rock have been found. It had some hardened soil on one end and attached to a rock of some sort that broke away by hand. This is untreated, cut, anything - just cleaned up. Tell me it's something wonderful!!!!

the natural cleavage seems a bit random for a gemstone.while angular it appears to be a crystalline quartz variety...crystalline quartz 1.webp.....when polished you get this...amber ice quartz.webp....this is typical amber quartz...amber quartz.webp


note similar fracture patterns.

You have a pretty crystal there, but I do not brlieve it is a topaz. A topaz in crystaling shape is eight sided. Here is a picture of half of one.
