Does this read Phylyo Souse? This is just using my old eyes and the "SWAG" method.
 

Looks like Philip Sousa. As in John Philip Sousa. Perhaps the name John is broken off and was some momento or award associated with his name.
 

It's a broken piece from an antique John Philip Sousa harmonica (with the 'John' having broken away), like this one:


That one is in the key of 'C' and yours is marked for the key of 'D'.

Thank you. Was hoping this was an individualized etching that would help identify who lived on old homesite. Still pretty neat though. Stepped off the 4 wheeler turned on the detector and before I could even ground balance there it was. Thanks for everyone’s help.
