Found this at an old Michigan County Fairground today. It reads silver all the way. 8" coil picks it up strong even with discrimination set to silver at highest level. Really pings the Pioneer 505 detector. Found 1" down in grass. Size: 1" wide 1/8" thick, about 3/4 " from "tip" to center top of curve. Weighs about the same as a AAA Battery. Any guesses.

I have heard about hot rocks, but never ran across one before. Small white area on the edge almost loooks corroded. HELPPPP...
Thanks, Bob

i live in northern Delaware and believe me, some sites around here are loaded with these rocks! there is an old church site that dates to the mid 1700s i have been trying to hunt and i have only been able to find lower tone items like flat buttons at this place because of those damn rocks! i know the coins are there, but they are hiding amongst all of those high tone producing rocks. its impossible to tell the differance between a silver coin and a rock... and they are everywhere! i dont know what that type of rock is, but they are a pain in the arse!

Ditto.

I have found chunks of zinc in many places.
