Ready to Purchase. Tell me about deals.

I'm ready to purchase a new detector. My question is do the vendors here deal by cutting prices on the MSRP or do they add bonus items and keep the MSRP as stated. I called one today and told them I was a member here and wanted to make a purchase. The price quoted was the MSRP but there was a bundle pack included. I only ask because I read these threads here from members who say they got a great price so I'm thinking $$$ off MSRP. I'm good either way but just want to know what to expect. I'll also be buying a salt water machine around March or April. What have your experiences been or if you're a vendor how does the deal work. Thanks in advance.

What I can tell you is only my own experience. This past Thursday, I contacted Bart @ Big Boys Hobbies and Found him to be VERY helpful in answering any questions I had. Granted, I had already made up my mind about 98% from reading a bunch of threads as to what MD I wanted before I called him, but he did NOT rush or hurry me in any way and took the time to answer any question I had. I went ahead and bought my MD from Bart and from my wife's reaction, I'll probably be buying MYSELF another new MD from Bart again before not too long since I can easily see her constantly "borrowing" this new one from me. I bought the F-2, 3 coil package. Keep in mind that the F-2 is on the lower end, cost wise, of MDs and most vendors have the basic same package with the basic same goodies that are worth anything, all for about the same advertised price with all of them.

Why did I buy from Bart? Well, he didn't rush me, answered all my questions, and acted as though he really cared about me buying an MD useful to me.

His F-2 pkg was comparable cost wise to the other people selling the F-2 pkg, only his didn't include a bunch of useless junk

He shipped it out right away to me with no sales tax or shipping cost to me

AND if I have a problem with anything in the equipment, I can pick up the phone and have it addressed immediately, WHICH IS PRICELESS!

Depending on which MD you're wanting to buy and it's retail price, I'm sure you can address cost issues with Bart and deal on price, but that personal touch from Bart is worth a fortune to me by itself.
