Found this in a basement of home from 1800s. I have no idea how to tell if real or fake. Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to Treasure Net !!
IMO: fake, though created to represent a Lima eight escudo cob coin dated 1736. P-V-S on the middle line represents the Latin phrase Plus Ultra, meaning Spain claims more beyond the Pillars of Hercules-the two vertical columns.

It looks fake to me also. Was it in that condition? It looks like it was cleaned with a wire brush.

Thanks for the feedback. That is the condition I found it in. Does anyone know estimated weight? This weighs 9.135 grams. I thought it was light, but really didn't know.

8 Reales weigh around 28 grams.
