Thank you sir...yep a quartz crystal. Do you find them on your hunting grounds? Does anyone have an opinion on how they were used? I've found many in the same horizon as artifacts. I've read that some believe they were part of a Shaman's bag?

Ryan the caves around here can be plum full of them in formations. I found a puple colored one on the river once but have no idea of the use. I am sure they were prized for their prismatic attributes : )
Hey? On a lighter note had a friend at the hunt club yesterday just return from Kentucky. He had a mason of the finest copper kettle apple moonshine I have ever seen. I have put in an order for a gallon.
You gotta love the south ! Happy huntin.

I would have to agree with you. Sounds like you may have found an amythist or purple quartz gemstone. Apple shine sounds mighty tasty, yep you gotta love the south.

Thanks and good point Steve. I've personally seen less interesting pieces of flint with ridiculous 6 figure reserves. Seriously though I'd say it's a endscraper / perforater combo tool, this sucker is still super sharp.

u know 37, i have found probally 7 at hunting camps, so i consider them artifacts. all quartz crystal, one rose quarts, from 1/4in thick to 1 in thick, i would safely say its a artifact if found at a camp. i sometimes carry ones i have hound for good luck when im out

Good to know you're finding them out west Chong, that's interesting. I tend to agree with because every one I've found has been from an artifact horizon. I carry one around for luck too sometimes.

Nice artifacts, great variety of material. We also find crystals, some clear and some smokey. I like the ones terminated at both ends.
